Third central area span history: Third Central area span otherwise called Ibrahim Babangida Scaffold is the longest and most active of the three extensions crossing Lagos Tidal pond associating Lagos central area to Lagos islands, the Scaffold is one of the main scaffolds in Nigeria situated in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The extension lifts to 3 kilometers over the water and is produced using pre-focused built up concrete, it begins from Oworonshoki, which is connected to the Apapa-Oshodi Turnpike and the Lagos-Ibadan Interstate, and finishes at the Adeniji Adele Exchange on Lagos Island.

The eight-path span (four toward every path) with a general width of 33.1m, including 3.5m for its middle separator was opened in 1990 and is assessed to be 11.8km (7.3 miles) long. The design was the longest extension in Africa when it opened until 1996 when the sixth October Scaffold worked across the Nile Stream situated in Cairo, Egypt was finished with an expected length of 20.5km.
